Our Last Meeting
Four of us met at the County Arms on Monday 18th February to discuss Nikolay Gogol's Dead Souls.
Wow it was a really good meeting that certainly sparked some really intersting conversation. In all the majority really enjoyed the book.
The common enjoyment was in Gogol's one liners, we found him very funny at times and how he poked fun at society. It was mentioned that the translation was quite poor, in a sense that it came accoss the translator was American and affected how the novel was read.
Certainly for it's time it is a great novel that had some really great charachters.

Steve Buchanan Art
A fantastic site by my dearest friend Steve. Take a look at all his fantastic paintings and watch him in action creating them. Steve painted some stunning pictures for my Mum's 50th Birthday and they currently take pride of place in our living room. He did them from some photos my mum took. He works with acrylic paints and produces some breathtaking pieces so take a look I can assure you will be wanting your very own Buchanan Painting.
